Fall Means it’s Annual Medicare Enrollment Time!
Updated: Sep 23, 2020
Make the Most of Medicare Open Enrollment This Year. You have from October 15 until December 7 to choose or change your Part D or Medicare plan for the 2021 calendar year. Even though many people retain existing coverage, keeping it on autopilot, it's important to check out your options every year.
New plans enter and leave the market, or plans may boost premiums and change the copayments for your medications. Medicare Advantage plans can also change costs, coverage and provider networks – the doctors and hospitals you use may not be included in the plan the next year. Also, if your health care needs have changed or you've been prescribed new medications, it's particularly important to compare your options because a different plan may be better for you now.
Compare plans using the Medicare Plan Finder at: www.medicare.gov/plan-compare or work with an agent. You can also get help from the Michigan Medicare & Medicaid Assistance program at 800-803-7174 or www.mmapinc.org
